Create Your Legacy is brought to you in partnership by DKH Legacy Trust and Progression

Create Your Legacy is the event to visit if you would like to progress your career. It will provide you with the opportunity to talk to recruiting employers and also find out about further training and education available to help you achieve your career goals.

The careers event aims to bring together all elite level athletes and those seeking alternative or complimentary careers with employers, educators and training providers who recognise and require the skill sets that a background or detailed knowledge of sport provides.

The DKH Legacy Trust’s mission is to harness the expertise of sporting champions and realise the talents in others

Through our ‘Harnessing Talent’ programme, the DKH Legacy Trust provides support to elite performers as they develop a new career. We help them make the most of their skills and experience by working with and inspiring young people through a range of different projects. At the same time, the elite sports performers are improving their own employment and career prospects.

Having seen the effect elite sports performers have on young people as role models and mentors, Dame Kelly set up the Trust to ‘Inspire young people and unlock life chances for them by improving their skills, knowledge and self belief through support and mentoring projects with sporting champions.’

Progression is an initiative created by League Football Education (LFE)

LFE is charged by the Professional Footballers’ Association (The PFA) and the Football League to deliver the Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (ASE) and understands that career progression does not end when a student finishes the ASE programme. In order to provide onward support and guidance for Apprentices LFE formed the Progression strategy.

The initiative now spans various sports and is supported by several sporting bodies including the Professional Players Federation (PPF), the Rugby Players Association (RPA), the Professional Cricketers Association (PCA), the Professional Boxing Association (PBA), the League Managers Association (LMA) and the Educational Sports Forum (ESF).
